[Infographic] Fight Off Tricky Web Design Clients

Web design clients are a tricky lot. Some of them enter into a contract with a design agency and only have the best of intentions. When they see the finished product, they might ask for changes, but they don’t do so in order to cause trouble. The other side of the coin is scarier for web designers, and on that side are web design clients that enter into a contract with no intention of living up to their end of the bargain.

Many designers have lost hundreds or thousands of dollars on clients that ask for specific designs, only to turn those designs away with a refusal to pay for them. That’s why it’s important now more than ever for web designers to spot clients that are bad eggs. Don’t get trapped with a client that will turn your hours of hard work into a part-time paycheck. Make sure you get it in writing and follow these other simple steps to protect your business and reputation.

love this – yes we have had to implement your check list a couple of years ago because we were left working for free too much. We still have clients questioning a clause in our quotes that states any wok not quoted will be notified and charged to the client. They think the cost is open ended no matter how detailed our quote is and how much we explain the process and their obligations!

I guess too many people don’t understand a production environment and thats not just media but any kind of manufacturing, and they are paid wages and a don’t understand work hours = $. Also anything done on a computer is easy and not requiring any skills, right ???!!
